April 2011 – The Netherlands Directorate-General for Public Works and Water Management has built a new motorway between the N34/N36 junction and the N48. The original N36 has been extended by nine kilometres for this ring road around Ommen. The route includes four viaducts, a bridge over the Ommerkanaal and a tunnel for cyclists and slow traffic at Witte Paal. The cycle path has been constructed at a higher level and fenced off to ensure the safety of the cyclists. The fencing was hot-dip galvanized by Verzinkerij Wolvega and the small fastening components were centrifugally galvanized by Centrizink Wolvega.

March 2011 – Verzinkerij Wolvega, Centrizink Wolvega and Poedercoating Wolvega have a modern transport fleet. They use it to pick up materials up to 3.5 metres wide and 25 m long from clients and, after completion of the conservation work, return it to the right place on time. Because more and more clients are turning to this transport service, the trucks have a fixed weekly itinerary that breaks down according to region.

February 2011 – Practical education is important for the students at AOC Terra in Groningen. So the school in Slochteren has a site with 2 hectares of land and a range of agricultural machinery. A new shed has been built to house all the equipment. Verzinkerij Wolvega hot-dip galvanised the steel structure for the new shed.

December 2010 – The old water tower of Bussum has been renovated and converted into the most sustainable office building in the Netherlands. A glass surround has been installed on the upper section of the tower, housing conference space and offices. Verzinkerij Wolvega hot-dip galvanised the components of the steel framework. The steel structure, which weighs 55 tonnes, was put together on location and lifted as a single component onto the tower using a telescopic crane.

November 2010 – In Voorhout, the re-profiling of the Herenstraat is reaching completion. The pavements have been replaced, the road surface has been re-laid and the street now boasts planters and new public lighting. The lamp posts were hot-dip galvanised by Verzinkerij Wolvega, and then powder coated matt black by Poedercoating Wolvega.

October 2010 – A magnificent cattle barn has been built for a dairy farm in Aldtsjerk in Friesland. The new barn complies with the requirements of the “Sustainable Livestock Farming Yardstick” that takes into account the cows, the farmer and the environment. Verzinkerij Wolvega hot-dip galvanised the steel structure for the new barn. The small parts were hot-dip galvanised by Centrizink Wolvega.

September 2010 – During the design of the new residential area of Saendelft, water and green areas were major factors. Shops and schools are close to the houses. The shopping centre ‘De Saen’ is located in the heart of the new area. It was opened officially on 2 September 2010. De Saen houses shops, restaurants and cafes, a health centre and housing. Verzinkerij Wolvega galvanised the balcony frames, the fencing and the expanded metal. Poedercoating Wolvega then powder coated the fencing and the expanded metal. Centrizink Wolvega centrifuge-galvanised various mounting parts and other small parts.

August 2010 – Fencing is used for various purposes such as enclosing industrial premises, delineating the boundaries of property or playing fields, for instance, so that the ball doesn’t run on to the road. Verzinkerij Wolvega and Poedercoating Wolvega are specialised in hot galvanising, polishing and powder coating of fencing and offer a ‘one-stop shop’ from the facility in Wolvega, making things easy for the customer.

June 2010 – A large company dealing in waste collection and processing, is located on the banks of the North Sea Canal in Amsterdam. High-grade machines are needed to produce good recycled raw materials from waste without burdening the environment. Large assemblies in a new “state-of-the-art” sorting installation were galvanised by Verzinkerij Wolvega.

May 2010 – The Vinkhuizen area in Groningen is the location for the Prism residential complex. The new building is home to 52 rented flats catering to all life phases, a parent and child centre with a playschool, a play and parenting shop, and a well-baby clinic. The steel structure and the balcony frames with expanded metal were hot-dip galvanised by Verzinkerij Wolvega.
